Ableism is one of the most overlooked and least discussed forms of bias, prejudice, and discrimination. Much of how ableism manifests in higher education is unintended and unintentional. Intentions, however, do not decrease how problematic ableism remains. With over 1300 students registered with the Access Center, ableism should be actively considered and addressed by everyone working at the university. This workshop will explore the adverse effects of ableism and steps we all can take to address this issue.
